Cool. I thought it was 6 last time??
It definitely was 2 years ago. My cable modem broke and the engineer finally turned up to replace it at 5:50.

Tony Abbott's notions on constitutional monarchy:
There are some people who believe that any republic would be better than what we have now.
Republic or bust zealots are incapable of perceiving any difficulties. Conservatives, however, dont change anything lightly.
Conservatives approach issues with instinctive respect for institutions and approaches that have stood the test of time.
If it is not necessary to change the conservative ethos runs, it is necessary not to change.
If it aint broke, dont fix it say conservatives, and if it is broke, recycle it, dont throw it away.
LOL on several levels.

Howdy. I have a Logitech G5, Logitech G9, and Razer Lachesis. I love 'em all but none has a Mac driver. :(
Do you use a laser mouse? If so, which do you use?
(I don't game, but the higher sensitivity works nicely for larger screen resolutions and some graphic design)
Thx!

There's a new iMac coming your way in the near future.
They likely don't have any refurb 2008 iMacs fitting the specs of your model, so you'll get a new one. :)
Try to back up that HDD if you can though!

I'd be cautious. Either the PB had a malufunction and doesn't work right or it's a scam. Although, I don't have much experience with eBay so it could be legit. Is there a way to track a persons buying/selling record?

WHen posting pics of your system online people need to start adding watermarks so idiots like these won't reuse them for posting Ads on CL or Ebay or where ever.
They post on CL here in Sacramento as well. Usually we use the Flagging system to get them deleted as quick as possible.. I just wish there was someway they could be filtered or refused from posting.

Thank you for your quick reply..
How long do you think it will take to have to knowledge to actually write my own App. That would be App Store quality ?
Between several months and never.
Are you in college? Learning to write a quality iPhone app without any previous experience in programming or design might be equivalent to getting at least a "B" in 3 semester length classes, tough ones at that. The variation is large. A few people are whiz kids. Many flunk out.
Check out the Stanford course videos on iPhone development. But the prerequisite is already being a good programmer.
There are also point-and-click tools that will almost write an app for someone with determination at following instructions, but almost no programming knowledge. See buzztouch.com for one example. But the types of apps that can be created by such tools are quite limited.

I had a Cube with a 15" Apple Studio LCD. You must upgrade to OS 9.2 if haven't yet. In the Energy Saver Control Panel there is now an option for disabling the button on the Cube. I forget what it's called exactly but you'll see it. You'll then have to turn the machine on and off with the monitor. This should work fine. They actually added this feature because of the problem between the Cube and the LCDs. Sorry if that's not the fix you need.

I solved the problem... apparently using the button to perform the action I needed, will indeed require me to click on it twice and then only perform the pan action. So I removed it and added an Image and added gesture recognizer to it.
Here is the updated code...

Hi, I want to put some CD's that I purchased on my iTunes to put on my iPod. The only problem is that I am getting a new laptop soon, my BlackBook is dyeing.)))): Well, so far I have bought all my music on iTunes, but it's so expensive. I bought many CD's like I said, and I'm putting them on iTunes. When I plug the iPod into a new computer, it would ask me if I wanted to transfer my purchases. And everything that I bought would transfer. The songs that I got from other websites wouldn't transfer. But If I import the CD's through iTunes, will it still transfer to the new computer? Or do they have to be bought from iTunes?
Thank You!
Thank You!

AppCleaner will uninstall every part of a program, including the oddball things that don't get uninstalled when you drag it to the trash.
No, it won't.
Thanks!! That works awesome!!
Actually, it doesn't.
u can also use Appzapper.
That's not any better.
AppZapper, AppCleaner, CleanApp, TrashMe, and similar apps do not do a thorough job of removing all files/folders related to deleted apps. I tested several of these, using Skype as the app to be removed. Of 17 items to be removed:
AppZapper missed 13 items
AppCleaner missed 11 items
AppDelete missed 8 items
Hazel missed 9 items
I also tested AppTrap, CleanMyMac and a few others, but don't recall how many items they missed. All left files/folders behind. In most cases, they remove .plist files and a few others, but leave behind much larger files and folders. (you will find a discussion of these tests in the thread linked below)
One app that I would not recommend, based on the number of complaints that have been posted in this forum and elsewhere, is CleanMyMac. As an example: CleanMyMac cleaned too much (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=709930)
The only effective method for complete app removal is manual deletion:
Best way to FULLY DELETE a program (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=11171082&postcount=16)

So does anyone else think apples next bluetooth keyboard should have backlit keys? and possibly black coloured keys, like macbook pro's etc, instead of white.
Is this possible?
What are your opinions - lets discuss.

you should settle with a Nvidia 6800 Ultra.
Oh no, OP - avoid it like plague. It's loud, hot and frequently failing card (and it isn't "top of the line" preformance wise).
Of original Mac ones X800 or X850XT will be most powerful. Of flashed ones 7800GS, like Transporteur said.

has your 7800GT got a dual slot cooler on it? the Quadro does (its the same cooler as the pc 7900GTX had) and also the same as the pc 7800GTX.. i think the 7800gt had that sheity single half lenth cooler on it. if thats the case, just grab a aftermarket cooler and be done with it.
seriously stay away from that 6600le its a piece of junk...
then again, if you dont play any games at all, nor use the gpu then sure i huess why not, go for the 6600...
cheers
Ok, I decided to do some investigating on my own to determine the root cause of the excessive noise.. it appears that there was a lot of dust in the video card.. while I got most of it out, the noise still prevails, sometimes going away for a short while then returning.. I might just get the Quadra fx 4500 and be done with it.. but also get the 6600(NOT LE).. THE 256MB version which is also a 6600 nvidia.
I am going to buy some compressed air today and see if that resolves the problem once and for all.. as I said, I blew into the fan area and took the thing apart, applied new arctic silver to the heat sinks..
the fan noise is not as bad as yesterday.. but it isn't totally done away with. I am really not going to mess with this anymore as I started getting artifacts - probably my fault for not applying enough arctic silver.

Hi guys, wanted to see what people's thoughts are on the iPad 2 Launch in Solihull and if anyone had any news or info.
Far as I'm concerned I'll be there, from previous launches people turned up and queued around 5.30/6 in the morning, from info I got from Touchwood security, on 25th they will be opening the Poplar Entrance (near John Lewis) before any other door due to the problems with too many open at the same time, which in turn caused too much chaos at previous launches.car park queuers will be led to the back of the main entrance line to keep order so personally would be just easier to walk round to secure your space and avoid disappointment.
As normal touchwood don't tend to give much away so I was lucky to get any info at all but it sounded fairly well thoughtout to stop any apple madness happening.
If your going, good luck and share any info as I have and we can all hopefully enjoy a nice new iPad 2 come Friday.

I agree a PM is more suitable and reckon I'll buy one within 12 months but as a cheaper alternative the Mini makes a great stop-gap.
You don't have to go straight from a mini to a PM. What about an iMac if you need more power? :)
