Don't know whether you have experienced one or not, but I have, where my close Indian colleagues and friends tell me that there is this big cultural event, arranged by this part of india they belong to (Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Rajasthani, Gujarati are those that I have experienced) and don't even invite me. It is openly declared what group function is that and beleive me or not, the name India does not exist in thee registered name or throughout the function.
I know it's off the topic but I had to mention this because some people compare themselves with freedom fight and say they are fighting for a cause. We as a country are completely divided in US and many of my american friends are well aware of this fact.
Coming back to cultural events and money collection, it would have been a good amount of collection by now, if there were many different IV portals one for each community, just a thought.
Organizing cultural events does sound like a good idea, but again the problem is "organizing". I volunteered in a few cultural event organizations and know that its hardwork and need many volunteers even in a small city (especially if its a fund-raising type). My understanding is state chapters are crying for members, if state chapters have enough volunteers it would be a good idea.
I think there were many brainstorming discussions on fund raising earlier on these forums. The problem with these anonymous forums are that anyone can give a suggestion and then do nothing about it (I am guilty of the same sometimes). Thats why I liked the idea of state chapters where members know each other and may be able to motivate each other to volunteer some time/money/etc.

If IV can do this much now, imagine how much they can do with more contributions and support. Please contribute as much as you can and ask your friends to register and contribute.
I am going to send another contribution today and urge my friends to do the same

Let us all have a rally to move back to our countries on 4July2008 to symbolically show that we want our Freedom and Independence and never return back.
If all the articles about reverse brain drain we are reading about is true they would do something to solve this GC situation. Otherwise the anti-immigrants will come to see us off while we depart this country and never to return back as H1B's trying to get GC's and live here. This will go into history, 30yrs from now and our grandchildren will read about it. And may be we will get some special pension at our home countries for returning back and helping it to do better.
Please take the poll to indicate if you would participate in this QUIT AMERICA MOVEMENT FOR OUR FREEDOM AND INDEPENDENCE
Your PD is 05/2003... I confidently bet you would not be in a queue for the guys who will go back.:D:D:D. By 4th July 2008 mostly you will be done with this wait hell.. Even if somebody who will be going back wants to track you , you would not be trackable on 4th July 2008.:mad::mad::mad: So please keep patience and help others to maintain the same at least.

In my view, it is too good to be true. But we have no way to challenge the numbers either. But it is 50% of the entire EB pending cases. Is this document authentic?? I don't see the logo on the letterhead??

Chanduv23,
Can someone use AC21 even if the person has not worked in the company but 180 days has passed?
Yes,
assuming I-140 is already approved and it is past 180 calendar days after I-485 filing date.

From pages 8-9 of Driving jobs and Innovation Offshore (http://www.nfap.com/pdf/071206study.pdf) The impact of high-skill Immigration Restrictions on America, National Foundation for American Policy (NFAP) Policy Brief, Dec 2007
India-based Patni Computer Systems agreed with the Department of Labor that the company paid 607 workers on H-1B visas less than the prevailing wage in 2004 and 2005. The Department of Labor did not oppose Patnis contention that this was due to an accounting error, since the government did not assess any additional penalties and concluded Patnis actions were not willful. Patni agreed to pay approximately $2.4 million to the 607 workers, which comes to slightly less than $4,000 each.
It is worth noting that $4,000 per worker is likely less than what the company paid in various legal and government fees to sponsor the workers ($5,000 to $6,000 in legal and government fees).

Obama made a statement last night we should fix the Borken Legal Immigration System.
That is a cliche. Everyone says it without knowing the details.
Obama has very poor understanding of issues. He has no idea how to solve most of the problems.
Lot of persons (like you :)) like him!
Billary (oops! Hillary) knows everything. She takes some cheap shots which she does't have to!

Sending letters is a waste of time. I did many in the past and nothing happened. We will only make post office richer and lose money on postage. Nobody reads or replies to letters.
Anyone willing to do hunger strike?
I agree. A few people sending letters does not make a difference. But if the 25-50K participants of IV send a letter everyday, it will make a difference. And we will send letters and emails to to all possible media outlets, especially immigration supporters like Larry Kudlow telling them that we are doing this....and if we dont get any responses, we will let the media outlets know that we are not getting any responses.
This is just to get the ball rolling. The ideas about rallying and hunger strike will continue development. There should always be activity. No lull period.
I urge people to participate and send letters. We can setup an email group for people who are planning to send letters with a reminder to send letters.
If you are sending two letters a day, its 90 cents a day, 27 dollars a month and 324 dollars a year.
Is 324 dollars not worth avoiding everyday hassles of immigration, moving to new jobs, new opportunities.
Please folks...lets do this....

... work with the congressmen and senators.
What will you do if you have convinced ALL lawmakers but they still do not vote for you because of public opposition generated by Lou DoGGS? The FACT (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showpost.php?p=98473&postcount=595) (NOT opinion) on immigration: In evident pain and remorse, a Republican Senator confessed to a Hispanic group from Maryland that his vote to kill immigration reform was a profile in political cowardice..
Todays New York's Id (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showpost.php?p=194883&postcount=1455) example:
Mr. Spitzers decision to abandon his plan comes as a poll released Tuesday by Siena College found that seven in 10 New York voters who had heard about it and more than 80 percent of the 625 registered voters polled had opposed it. It also found that for the first time, more people viewed the governor unfavorably than favorably.
The governor and his aides said that they were not reacting to the slumping poll numbers, but acting pragmatically. That the dispute had even tripped up Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, who stumbled to answer a question about it in a presidential debate, was symptomatic of where we were, he said.
The issue was gaining traction not based on thoughtful discourse, but based on sound bites and less than careful analysis, he added.

I got an LUD on 485 when i got AP approved.
Dont even try to rationalise how the f*** those systems are inter connected and how they roll :o
Same with me. I applied for AP and got it approved on Feb9th. On Feb10th, I got soft LUD on mine and my wife's 485. I was hoping thats pre-adjudication, but I have my doubts now. They just probably are checking my 485 at the time of AP approval. :(

I seriously doubt that this list is a 140 pending. Not 485. In 485 stage NIW will not come into picture.
