I got my GC on 09/18/07. Now my consulting company (how sponsored my GC) is having issues with the client and client is thinking to terminate the contract.
Client want to bring me to there pay roll. In other words they are offering my permanent position.
My consulting company does not have immediate opening for me.
It is not even a month that I got my GC. And I am with the same consulting company for about 6.5 years now.
Please help me. What should I do? If I accept the offer will I get problem at citizenship stage? If I do not accept offer I will loose job and I don't know how much time I have to wait till my consulting company find job for me.
Accept the offer like I am planning to do. Job is most important.

Hi,
I am a new member based in CT. I am glad I attended the december 25th meeting at Stamford, CT. Himanshu presided over the meeting and gave us lot of new information about what's going on in the immigration world and how Immigration Voice is helping out.
I think instead of fighting our battle alone if we come together and voice our problems there is a better likelihood of a positive outcome. Immigration voice can help us channelize our efforts and get the necessary immigration status.
I don't want to wait half my life getting my green card. Life is short and there is no guarantee about anything but I urge everyone affected to join this movement. We are in a capitalistic country and nothing ever happens without necessary funds so I urge you to please donate generously. If you never buy a lottery you can never win it . It's a bad analogy but I hope you get the point :)

The point here is that this is wrong
1. Extra cost for Immigrants, It is expensive 400 Dollars
2. There is no logic for this medicine - It makes immigrants guinea pigs for this vaccination. It is clearly a result of lobbying effforts from Pharma companies.
If We do not appose (or I should say expose) it now then u never know what all they will keep piling on in medical exams and very soon that 5% figure that u talked about will be 100%.
Also IV is for Legal Immigration for all nationals, I am sure more than 5% of IV members are getting effected.
It is highly unethical to make this vaccine mandatory for immigrants (girls in age group 11-26) and not for citizens.
Only the Pharma companies and committe members (as they must have been bribed) are gaining out of this.
It is going to bring an estimated 40 million dollar annually to Merck.
Not to mention the extra paper work for us immigrants and RFE's on medicals for people who has already completed the paper work and are waiting in the lines.
This vaccination is for ladies only and in age group 11 to 26, that really means only 5% of Indians will be effected with the wait times we have been looking at.

HI,
Starting from Jan 2010 there are new rules for getting the prevailing wage info. The turn around time for this in worst case is 60 days. Do you happen to know if there is any way to expedite this.
Also do we have to go through DOL to get this info or can we use any other means.

With an I-140 approval a strict reading of the law does seem to imply to me also that an extension only if I-485 cannot be filed. However USCIS has been interpreting this to be I-485 cant be approved because of visa numbers. And that makes sense.
So once dates go U (like they have now), or you are no longer current, you can still get 3 year extensions. Thats what has happened to a couple of my friends.

Hi.
I have a question on whether Advance Parole is required for my wife to come back to the US.
She is coming back on December last week. Her H4 visa is expiring on JAN first week. she has her new H4 extension approval notice, 485 receipt notice with her. Does she need to have advance parole to come back?
(Her AP got approved after she left and I have received the docs recently. So I was wondering if I should fed-ex the docs to her).
UPDATE: she has a valid H4 Visa stamping on passport till Jan 10

Yes you can fedex the AP to india and yes she can use it while coming back if needed. I got this from USCIS level 2 immigration officer.:D

In US the nice thing about SSA is unemployment and disability security.
But 10 years is a long time to wait on a temporary visa to get your social security back.. There were some discussions to reduce this to 3 years but that talk is dead now.
In India, the best part is 100% compulsory employer contribution. But
Indian PF sucks with rising inflation and lack of accountability.
And we all know how the employers would "Package" their "contribution".
This latest development will sting Indian origin GC holders and US citizens who go back to work in India and MNC employees working abroad.

July 2nd filer. NSC->CSC->NSC. Was told by an IO at NSC that my FP's have been scheduled on 10/26. Well, I have not received it as yet.
