Actually can someone make this smaller? I'm not a very good pixel artist so I just shrunk a stargate and edited it so that the chevrons showed up. It's a little goa'uld standing at the gate with glowing eyes. Doesn't show up on my CRT. Someone with an LCD might be able to see it. Also the gate doesn't look pixelated like it should.

In the profile data EAD/AP dates are kind of overkill I guess, even though they are not mandatory fields. They add no/very little value to overall purpose.

I think you missed the USCIS update. You can file till Aug 17th. So its the same amount of time one month from now.
I read some where that filing is allowed to Aug-17, but the new fees will effected on 01-Aug although July filers.
Correct me If I'm wrong.

That is correct. You do not get to sign the 140 as it is has to be applied by the employer. You however, have to sign your approved Labor which will be attached to the 140 application.

Pl. help with your precious advice. I got laid off five months back. I kept hunting new job but could not get one. Now I plan to move out of the country. In the circumstances, is my employer who was holding my H1b during termination, liable to give return tickets to my base country ? Can I claim the same after five monthsof my termination since I failed to get any job? What about my family members?
Can anyone send any link emphasising this Rule so that I can quote that to my employer?

I submitted my passport renewal in december 09 and received my new passport in feb 10. Exactly 3 months to the date. Its a pretty slow process. Initially they gave me a Jan date to pick the passport ( I did not personally not via mail) and when I went there they said they had not received police clearance from India (no change in house or any info from old passport) but good part was they said they will call me when the passport is ready and they did call. Other wise there is no way to contact them. The phone just rings and rings and message box is full.

Hi All,
My situation finally got resolved. Just wanted to share with everyone --
1. If you don't travel after Oct 1, 2008 & have I-94 with effective date of October Ist 2008 - your status is as per I-94 effective October Ist , 2008. Last Action rule does NOT apply here. We confirmed it with different attorneys, USCIS, Immigration officer, CBP officer. So "texcan" & "astral1977" are wrong in their interpretation.
System should have updated on OCtober Ist, 2008 with H1 status; DHS, USCIS, CBP departments told us that Vermont center didn't do something right in updating the system when issued you H1 notice.
Btw, CBP officer at airport (Department of corrections ) verified that my wife's H4, I-94 (received Sep 10, 2008) is active in system & it should have been de-activated on oct, ist 2008 with h1, I-94.
2. Regarding SSN - We reapplied for SSN & asked SSN office to send the G-845 form manually to DHS. Then after spending 40-50 hours with NSC on phone with multiple calls, we found that there is a phone number , which SSN office can call to check the status of G-845 request with DHS department.
Number is :- 1-888-464-4218.
Normally SSN office should call - but in my wife's case, my wife called herself & after being transferred to 2nd tier, officer was helpful & told that verification has been sent to SSN on Jan 2. Visited SSN office a week after that and got my wife's SSN #.

You meant, getting residency on h1b is extremely 'difficult' in recent times? Anyways, if your wife has once got a residency on H1, getting a fellowship on H1 should not be that difficult. Hospitals are much easier on physicians that are already on a H1 status...its the same as its the case with IT employers...once on a H1, its easier to move around on a H1..
Just like my wife, your wife too now has sufficent H1 years to get through both residency and fellowship, I guess, so running out of time is not a problem either.
Only thing, people like you and me need to worry about is what if the residency is pursued at a non-profit (quota exempt H1) and wife decides to pursue fellowship at a for-profit (quota H1).
In that scenerio, fellowship on a H1 might be a bit of a problem...
I suggest, if your wife has already started residency on H1, avoid thinking of getting onto a J1 ever.
You will unnecessarily complicate her immigration profile...

I had similar experience in Mexico. Most of the queries are directed at your employer if it is a consulting co. As ss1026 said, every case is different, but if you can provide the info. it should be ok, though it can test our nerves and time-taking. Hang on and be diligent with the queries and wishing you good luck.

I believe one can send all applications in one packet, but be sure to include separate copies of supporting documents for each application with each sub-packet (per app). If paying by check, send separate checks (although I seem to recall you saying you'd paid by credit card).
