I was in a similar situation with EAD
I applied for EAD in November 2008, it got Approved (Card Production Ordered etc) but never rec'd the card.
I raised numerous SR's , spoke to IO' etc. (for 9 Months)
Every IO was very sympathetic but they did not know where my card was.
At last in July 2009 , I spoke to an IO and the said that she would follow it up
The next day, I rec'd an email stating that my Card was sent in November 2008 , since I did not receive it , it might have been lost in the email and If I need EAD, I need to re-apply
After this I spoke to an IO again, she said the case closed - Card lost in email - I need to re-apply.
Anyways... I did not re-apply.
In August 2009 I received my EAD card in the mail :)

Actually, I took all my documents and initially I was issued Maryland driver's license then he saw this note and called his supervisor and his supervisor cancelled Maryland Driver's license and gave me back Ohio driver's license. May be its matter of whether someone looks your ohio driver's license carefully or not. but bottomline now, I am not able to get Maryland driver's license.
Should I goto different DMA? is it illegal if someone gave me Maryland license even though there is "non renewable/non transferable" written?

Hi All,
Need help to determine what should I do.
I stayed in India for a month but since my application did not clear, I entered USA on AP because my boss was getting mad that I had to extend my vacation and I did not want to risk losing my job.
Mumbai consulate has now sent me an email saying that admin processing has been completed (after more than 60 days ) and are asking me to submit my passport. BTW, the DOS in DC still says my app is pending admin processing.
I am in USA now as a parolee. Should I go ahead and send my passport to India and get it stamped and have it sent back to USA through a friend.
Please advise.

1- You mantioned "For your date to be current, the cut-off date has to be July 8th, 2010 or later." I think you ment that the cut-off date has to be July 7th, 2006 or later because my Priority Date is July 7th, 2006 based on the example you gave?
2- Could you please guide me to the bulliten that states the cut off date for countries. That will help me to understand if it worth to worry about porting the PD or not.
3- I am not from China or India. Is that mean the priority date is current for Eb-2 + perm (employment based (2nd category))? If this is the case why should I worry about porting PD from old EB2 to new EB2?

Are there any updates to the Bill that is being discussed right now ? I mean we have updates saying that they are discussing illegal immigration, border security, etc. I guess all of us are waiting to see & hear if something about us is getting discussed there. Something which would benefit our own community.
Please don't get me wrong, but many people hopefully look at the posts everyday thinking that there might be an update which might benefit thier case.I would urge & request someone from core members to give continuous updates.That would also eliminate lot of doubts especially amongst groups who are not very clear on the immigration voice activities.

While SHRM, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Associated Builders and Contractors, HR Policy Association, and the American Council on International Personnel still have a lawsuit pending against the government challenging the legality of the federal contractor mandate, this agreement suspends court proceedings in order to allow the Obama Administration an opportunity to review the rule.

OCI's can work without visa. ALL PIO's are eligible for OCI.

Initially I paid all the fees for I-485 and EAD filing. Now I need to renew my EAD, who should pay renewal fees [Employee or Employer]. Employer paid for H1B expired in March'08. Current EAD will expire in Sep' 08.:)

I work for company A (Big American company), my EB3 LC and I-140 is approved (PD March 2003). I am in 7th year of my H1b and 2 months ago I got 3 years extension of my H1b visa based on approved LC and I-140.
I got a offer from company B (small American company) and C ( Indian consulting company). I am thinking to join company B they are ready to apply my case in EB2 category but I am not sure about the job security in company B, so I want to apply H1 extension through both Company B and C .
I have two questions:
1) Can I get extension of 3 years from both company B and C based on my EB3 LC and I-140 Approval from Company A.
2) If I join company B now, can I join company C in future incase something wrong goes with company B.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

I have been trying to get an appointment from Hyderabad consulate, AP, India for the past two days on 27th or 28th of May 2009.
When I check the availability, the website shows that 27 thru 29th of May are available for appointments. But after I create and save the application it doesn't take me to the page where I can select the appointment dates. We sent an email to VFS customer support but till now we did not receive any reply.We are two H1bs(myself and my husband) and two H4s(kids).
Did anyone get an appointment successfully ?
The entire process of H1b revalidation itself is a tormenting procedure. On the top of it VFS website is really annoying.Sorry for venting my frustration.
Can anyone please help me out and guide me through the process.
