i have not come across any success stories of USCIS to CP move.
Also, i am not sure if the company must keep an empty chair for you..till you complete the CP process.
I was told that as long as the firm can give a letter stating that the job will be offered once you get ur GC..that should be good enough.

My AP status was changed to Document mailed on 10/29 but i didn't receive anything yet. Heard that Lawyer would be receiving them if you have signed G28.
Keep in touch with your lawyer and ask them to forward it to you as soon as they receive. Otherwise, some lawyers will take their own sweet time to send it.

We are in a critical situation. My wife's AP was approved on 10/18 and the current status is "Document Mailed on 11/05". It also says "You should receive the document within 30 days".
Our flight to India is on 11/15 and we are wondering typically how long it takes for us to receive the physical paper after the status changed to "Document Mailed".
Can you please share your experience?

In my case wife works in the same company which is sponsoring our GC and EAD apps .our EAD expired on Aug 13th (am on H1 still, wife on EAD). But Our laywer told us its ok to continue to work and employer didt ask us any thing so far. Still waiting for EAD. Expidite req was approved about 10 days ago, still waiting for the decision.
Per my lawyer, there is no written rule really that stops us working after EAD expiry,and it also depends on how employer looks at these rules and all this mess..

They need to have EAD with no expiry. There is no reason for the EAD to expire except getting your GC. Same for AP.
How about getting DENIED a green card? That's the whole idea of having expiration on EAD - so that people can't extend after they have been denied. And getting the money, too. EAD fees are #1 money makers for USCIS.

No, you don't have to be employed while in EAD but do remember GC is future job, if have something to show them then you are safe.

I hope they don't charge money for pre-adjucation, else this would be another scheme for money making!
From the link, it appears that the talk here is about filing I-485 even when priority date is not current. That's different from before. Having said that, we'll see when it happens and if anything happens.

The reason you did not get an approval with I-94 is that it seems your current status is valid only till May and I am not sure if your attorney included the documents (I-20) mentioning that you will be enrolled in Kaplan from June - Oct......USCIS wont approve a H1 with I-94 if you do not show evidence that you have valid status till Oct 1st.....

Now that most of the cases that have LUD on their I-140 got or getting approvals, I want to track how many of you guys have an LUD on 07/13/2008. If you have any other LUD on your I-140, please post them.
Besides LUD on my approved I-140 on 7/13/08 (approved in 2/06), there were LUDS on H1B(approved 3/03, extended 9/05) on 6/28/08 and LUDs on I-485 (filed on 07/02/07) dt 5/23, 6/18, 6/25/08. Anybody seen recent LUDs on I-140+I485+I-129 BTW my pd is 10/05, EB2i Still waiting for magic mail. May lady luck smile on us.

I just checked my I140 approval notice and it shows LUD as July 28th 2007
I am totally confused as to why it shows that since my I140 is approved since a long time .
I have applied for 485 on June 29th 2007 and it reached USCIS TSC on July 2nd 2007.

Thanks for your info..and I wish you good luck. By any chance are you aware whether i need to send new fees or old fees? As a precaution I am going to sending the diff amount in a separate check.
They should be OK with the old fee, however to be safe I would send an extra check to make up the difference for new fee. Explain it in the cover letter and let them decide.

I'm having a problem with a Nikon d100 camera taking the necessary pictures for a high dynamic range photo. I need to take 3 pictures in a short ammount of time (which I can do, using the bracket setting) but I need to vary the shutter speed manually in this setting, with a different exposure time for each of the 3 pictures taken in the bracket. Is there any way that I can do this, or any software that will allow me to accomplish this?

I have an apporved I/140 and RD of I/485 in May 2007 under EB3. The PD is april 01 which is unavailable per current VB. My H1 is expiring in Jan 08 (9th yr extn.) Should I get my H1 extended and also can I do it myself? Kindly advise if I go for premium processing for H1 extn., can I get it extended for 3 yrs? Any related link for extn. be appreciated. Thanks
yes, you can..infact complete immigration process you can do yourself without any lawyer but only for 1 year as your AOS is pending. Search this forum, you will find an email from one of member who has given complete list for H1b extension.

I filed 485 on July 18 in NSC. I called USCIS on Oct 16 (exactly the 90th day), early in the morning. 1-800-375-5283(1,2,2,6,2,2,1). The lady who picked up said they have introduced a new system to raise a 'Service Request' for those who are waiting for more than 90 days for check clearance. She siad that mine was the first case she was entering into the system. She keyed in my details and gave me a Service Request # and said that an agent will be assigned to my case within two days to look for my application. On Oct 18th, I found that my checks were cleared. But the rec # are not showing on online yet. So, pls call USCIS and raise a service req if you don't see any activity yet, it worked for me, though the rec # s not updated online yet.
