Hello,
I have a brand new 16gb iphone. I will probably change this to FS or list it on ebay if i cannot deal with local buyers, but for now, i'd rather sell it locally since I will be in downtown chicago till the second midweek of may.
Let me know if anyone has any interest, and how much they'd like to buy it for. :)
Also post any questions, and if they are requested, pictures will be posted.
thank you. :)

At my Uni we aren't suppose to have out own wireless networks, but I know of atleast 4 dorms that do. They simply hide the network so only they know what it is.

I have an Alpine iDA-X305S in my car that I have been running my 32gig iPod Touch for about a year now with no problems.
Today I updated the software on the iPod to the latest available and now scrolling through the artists through the head unit is very sluggish (a huge understatement) or doesn't even scroll at all.
The unit is supposedly made for iPod.
I have no idea what to do, I have tried resetting the iPod and the head unit, but nothing changes.

Well my quad core i7 MPB turned up this morning, so the first thing had to be to see how well it folds!
It's just the stock 2.0 GHz 15" version, but initial indications are good.
It downloaded a 6701 WU, which do tend to be slower than the others, so I'll update these figures once its done a few different units.
TPF: 11 min 46 s
PPD: 6184
CPU temp: 85 C
Fan speed: 4667 rpm (both)
Power draw: 58-59 W (screen off, 62-63 W with screen on)
For comparison, my 2.4 C2D iMac does about 1400 ppd using 75 W, but at a much cooler 54 C.
Feel free to add your own Sandy Bridge numbers for comparison.
Keep folding!
Rob

I think I'm onto something good. Have you heard of the 5 stages of grief? If you learn you have a fatal disease or a loved one has a fatal disease (also applies to relationships) you go through 5 stages: denial, resentment, bargaining, depression, acceptance. With that in mind, here are the Five Stages of Switching:
The first stage is denial
Upon hearing others badmouth Windows, the user reacts with a shocked, "No, its okay. Its got problems but computers have to crash sometimes." This is not a healthy stage, but permits some users to not blindly accept Microsofts BS and develop other defenses.
Next comes anger or resentment
"What makes Mac users think their computer is better than mine? Jerks!" is the question asked now. Abuse, directed against the Mac community (usually on internet message boards and in Comp USA) often is a part of this stage. This outcry should be accepted, unjudged. You cannot reason with somebody in this stage. Facts are lost on them.
The third stage is bargaining
"Windows has problems, but" "If I buy the latest version and install all the patches . . ." This is a period of temporary truce.
The fourth stage is depression
Now the person says, "Yes, Windows sucks and is ruining my life," with the courage to admit that it is happening; this acknowledgment brings depression. (Note: The family rarely goes through the stages along with the user. Rather, they enable the denial and resentment stages)
Finally comes acceptance
The user buys a Mac and demolishes his old PC with a baseball bat, just like the fax machine in Office Space. This is often a difficult time for the family, since the patient tends to withdraw to use his Mac. It is also difficult for the family because they are probably in denial themselves.

my current ipod has a bunch of song on it that I ripped from cds (okay, and a few illegal downloads). However, that was two computers ago, so I'd have to re-rip the music, provided I still have it.
I can't seem to add the ripped stuff to my itunes on my current computer. I think it has something to do with copy rights, but it could also be b/c I don't know enough about macs.
Is there some way I can transfer those songs to my iTunes? I've heard that some people (like really smart fanboys) know how to do it.
What file type are the songs? If you were able to get the songs onto a CD, im sure you could put them into itunes.
1. Put the CD in
2. Select the CD on the sidebar in iTunes.
3. Select "import from CD"
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1473#1
BTW, You dont have to be a "fanboy" to google. Don't label us.

How about 1080p movies in full screen mode? Does it look bad? Do you guys prefer watching it through a window at 1080p?
1080p, or even 720p should be fine. Moving picture is different because you don't concentrate in small details but try to read text in Safari at 1920x1080 and it will look pixel-ish, something that you don't want.

I posted the same question here some time back but got no response(N) So, i done some digging for myself.
When i done mine it was for a DofE (A Charity), which meant i was after a rather free option, i found YawCam (http://www.yawcam.com/). Downloading their software, i was then able to stream live onto a html page, which they set up for free! I then embeded it into my own website.
Thanks for the suggestion. I noticed it has a scheduling feature which is nice and what I've been looking for. I have several other questions in relation to this:
What kind of hardware would I need for this, and what type of internet connection? Would a normal pc or a netbook with an attached higher quality webcam (thinking of going with a higher quality Logitech - does the app work with their cameras?) be enough? What about bandwidth usage? Wouldn't I need a really fast upload connection if I'm planning on using a direct stream? Cable modem? FIOS? Or is there some service which allows you to stream to them and they relay to your site (similar to Justin.tv or Stream.tv, though I'd prefer not to deal with them in particular)?

It's, erm, insania. The gist of it being that the whip-wielding vampire-vanquishing adventure into androgyny, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, is going to vanquish vampires and wield whips on Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday (when else?). An 800 MS Point ($10) expenditure will net you both the original version of the game and another that boasts improved HD visuals and sound.

A big problem with the big megapixels is the amount of storage they take on your phone. You cannot adjust the megapixel size down with a phone camera like you can with a point & shoot camera.
I think you can adjust the resolution on Windows Phone 7.

Pretty much every phone I've had has has adjustable resolution settings.

Since you went the clean install route, my guess would either be bad ram or a bad HD. I had an iMac that had all sorts of weird lock ups and other odd problems. Traced it down to the HD, replaced it, been fine since.
It's probably not a loose connection, but worth a shot, make sure everthing inside is connected fully, reseat the ram and such.
Would doing the Apple Hardware Test help determine problems? I know for a fact that everything is seated properly, as the system has not moved for over two weeks. Stuff doesn't just move on its own (or at least, I hope :D). But, does the Apple Hardware Test also check non-Apple RAM?

Does anyone know how I could do this? Basically I have a client who wants to stream a part of their store to the general public so that people could see what happens during the day. All that I know at the moment is that it will be a flash window located on their front page. I just don't know how I should go about streaming to the web. Would I need a dedicated IP? Hardware/Server? What kind of bandwidth would this require?

Never hurts to drop off your resume to one of the store's managers. Ask for the "Store Leader" though as that is the main store manager and usually has the final say about the hiring.
