Yes this is not a typo. This is true. Aman has made more financial sacrifices and time sacrifices than anyone else. Not a single penny has been reimbursed to him for his trips to DC, food and stay in DC or car rental in DC. Is it true that for a company w/ more than 100 employees, a statement letter from the CFO will be adequate as a proof for ability to pay? What info should the CFO be included in the letter?
I was so screwed by my lawyer in the LC process so I plan on DIY for the I-140 & 485.
Yes, you can submit a letter from CFO if the company has more than 100 employees.

Called all of them today morning. Requested the house reps to co-sponsor the 3 bills. It will be more effective if more constituents (or even CA residents) call in, rather non-constituents like me calling in.
Some of the offices did mention that they received lots of calls regarding the support for the 3 bills. Good going folks..

I think it is 45 working days, not counting weekends and holidays, that gives us 9 weeks of time to file for 140, that should be enough in most cases.

It won't help, if everyone starts porting, EB-2 queue will face a similar situation. Porting doesn't happen soon either. With delays in I-140 processing, it may be close to 2 years before you could file for a fresh I-485 with a request to port the EB-3 priority date. Note, this is a grey area and doesn't guarantee you the old PD. If the company is willing to foot the bill, go for it or else IMO it is not worth spending your own money.
Legislative or Administrative fix is our best option. We should focus on the recapture bill and other initiatives by IV, contribute and participate in the action items. We, as a community should raise enough money for lobbying etc.,
Porting should not be done just because of the GC wait. In fact, porting should be a side-effect if anything caused by a change in job. There are much more major considerations as well as reasons for changing a job.
The best course of action is contribute to IV so that we can have more lobbying power. With that, we may be able to get bills like 5882 thru and that is what will help all of us. It is the single path in my mind for minimum investment to maximum return.

NO point#1 is not true. in fact it is biggest misconception - I remember reading some where that if you have consumed all your 6 years on H1, your extension of H1B beyond 6 years is only based on pending AOS. So in this case, if your 485 is rejected, also your H1B. If you continue to work on H1B even after this, it is illegal.
(This is what I believe & I may be wrong. I am not lawyer, this is not legal advice & check with your attorney first before deciding anything)

I assume you've likely never studied in India though. An bachelor's degree in engineering is not very expensive, if you have good grades.
10 years back it would cost about $100-200 a year, if you qualified through a state ranking system.
i graduated more than 10 years ago...with an Engineering degree...i know about the $100-200 merit seats...which were extremely difficult to get. I could have gotten the merit seat in a lower ranked college but chose a better college. It applies to only the top 5% or less of the total applicants. You don't get to the top 5% without spending a small fortune in private coaching ...why... because your regular teachers hardly make an attempt to teach you well...and they are the same ones who make lot more money in private coaching.
Anyways even with the very little $100-200 "almost impossible to get" merit seats there are plenty of other expenses for engineering. This is out of the question if your family is not in lower middle class economically atleast.

But i bet you ..you will find your self in the same situation of agony and endless waiting for the final Green card.
I bet most of the people don't use your ead and AP as it puts you in a gray "Adjustment of status". They are good to have though. But you will see...how painful it is to decide to use them or not..
What i want to say is that being able to apply for EAD and AP is not the end of the battle..you will be stuck in a depressing situation waiting for the final green card.How do i know? .. I went through it...waiting for GC for the past 4 years.
